Where Are Our Shoes Made? A Word About Our Manufacturers' Working Conditions

At Balletyx, we believe that every product has a story.
Not just the story of its design or creation, but also the story of the hands that bring it to life.
Today, as more and more consumers rightly demand greater transparency, we feel it is only natural to share how our shoes are made — and by whom.

Where Are Our Shoes Made?

Our shoes are crafted in China, in the Yiwu region, a place renowned for its expertise in textiles and footwear manufacturing.
We work primarily with Yiwu Renfan, a specialist supplier known for the quality of its products and craftsmanship. Yiwu is a true industrial hub where tradition and innovation meet.

What About the Working Conditions?

At this time, we have not yet had the opportunity to visit the workshops in person. However, we maintain regular communication with our suppliers to ensure that basic quality and human standards are met.

According to the information we have, employees generally work standard hours (around 8 hours per day) with scheduled meal breaks.
Overtime may occur, as is common in the Chinese industrial sector, but it is regulated and generally performed on a voluntary basis.

Wages and Workers' Rights

Workers are paid according to the legal minimum wage standards set by the Zhejiang province authorities.
They typically benefit from basic social insurance (healthcare, pension), as required by local laws.

Although we have not yet conducted an independent audit, we carefully select our partners based on their reputation and their ability to meet at least the minimum legal requirements.
In the future, we aim to go further by prioritizing suppliers with international certifications such as BSCI.

A Focus on Human Well-being

In some Yiwu factories, positive initiatives are already in place: employee housing close to the workplace to avoid long commutes, professional training programs to encourage career development, and continuous efforts to improve working conditions.

We salute these initiatives and encourage all actions that help improve the workers’ daily lives.

Our Commitment for the Future

We are fully aware that there is still progress to be made.
Having total control over an international supply chain is a challenge for any brand.
However, we choose transparency — even about the aspects we do not yet fully master.

Our commitment is clear: to move forward step by step, to select our partners with even greater care, and to always match product quality with respect for the people who craft them.

Thank you for being part of this conscious and responsible journey.
